Snorkeling with sea lions

Unique experience in the world!

The experience that is a must option for being unique in the world is snorkeling with South American sea lions in the Punta Loma Nature Reserve. There, a stable population of approximately 600 wild and free animals resides. After a beautiful twenty-minute navigation to the Reserve, we will enter the water to experience this unique event, as there is no other recorded colony of sea lions where the animals can approach and interact with people as they do here. This unique characteristic is due to three factors: the subspecies of the sea lion, the South American sea lion, Otaria Flavescens, known for its high friendliness; the fact that most of the colony resides permanently in the area; and the absolute absence of predators.

What makes this activity an unforgettable moment is that the animals are not manipulated or forced in any way, as they are in an absolutely wild state. They will always be the ones to decide the approaches and forms of interaction. Accordingly, we will depend on their will.

Snorkeling Specialty

If you want to add a FREE PLUS to your experience, our Diving Center offers the Snorkeling Specialty endorsed by SDI, one of the most prestigious certifying agencies in the world. The training is fundamental for maneuvering the buoyancy of the suits and making smooth movements in the water, thereby generating trust among the animals. This certification is 100% FREE and optional. To carry out this training, we will provide you with a digital manual to read before the activity, containing key information about snorkeling, equipment, techniques, and more. On the day of the excursion, those who wish to obtain their certificate must inform the instructor to carry out a brief skills practice in the Punta Loma reserve.
